Fassbender in his well trod little fusspot/robot man mode, Blanchett kinda fun, Burke kinda fun, Brosnan definitely very fun, could have used more.
That first dinner scene is dreadful, awful dialogue (Koepp!), looks like shit, cuts like shit, horrible light. Whole movie looks incredibly dim.
Does the Soderbergh trick of complicating, through obfuscation, an incredibly simple plot, except usually the trick is slick and snappy and here it’s kinda sluggish and lifeless, so I ended up kinda bored…

Bible story as kinky petty conspiracy, which suits huge parts of the Bible and Wilde pretty well.
Watched without subtitles, so I'm sure some of the more specific satirical stuff went over my head but it's all about reflections and colour and melon chopping and a melting crown of flowers so who cares.
