not to keep bringing it up but that part in mulholland drive when betty is in the club silencio and she starts shaking uncontrollably in her seat and the light is flashing on her? that was me when grand massacre sequence, that was me when ending harmonica sequence. that was me when once upon a time in the west. movies don’t let characters spend 4 minutes trying to blow a fly off their face anymore, and that’s sad.

I was a little high after the drag show last night and was browsing for a before-bed movie on hbo. I click on this utterly random dime a dozen right-after-Hayes-code film curious about what watching such a movie high may be like. Only to have Barbara Stanwyck’s name come up all caps in delicious art deco font on my screen. I actually cried. It felt like a sign from the gods. Of what? No clue.
This movie was just okay. Babs forever.
