Ken Jeong Binge #18: The Opening Act (2020, Steve Byrne)

This was good. Jimmy O. Yang has this sort of awkward charm to him and it worked with me in Interior Chinatown, and it definitely does in this. Scenes with him and Cedric work well. Bill Burr was hillairous in this. Debby Ryan's cool, although I for some reason keep getting her confused with Bella Thorne (Debby's better though) This takes a nice pathway through stand up really. Yeah it's been done before, but this works well

so what the fuck was this? Seriously I was so confused throughout the entire thing. I understood the Lightbody storyline but John Cusack's character's story felt barely seen and I have no idea how they connect. There are for sure some funny moments here but the overall story is just a jumbled mess.

I'm gonna be completely honest, This is one of two movies i've rated where the rating is more objective than subjective. THe first is the Favourite. I can admit both of these are great movies, but neither of them were captivating enough to fully get my subjectivity. Unlike The Favourite though, I'm willing to rewatch this. It's weird for me, cause it's a…
