The scenes that packed a punch were few and far between. Unfortunately, the lack of cohesiveness and the abundance of dull, energy-less scenes gave The Alto Knights a bad taste in my mouth.

The best way I can sum this movie up is that this is a James Bond film unlike any James Bond film you have ever seen before.
Scorsese’s range is so impressive. Here, he brings us a mystery of epic proportions that was executed brilliantly, with elements of a horror movie thrown in. DiCaprio, as expected, was terrific and so was the supporting cast of Ruffalo, Kingsley, et al. I don’t see this as one of my favourite Scorsese films, but it’s still one I’d check out if you want a glimpse into one of his underrated pictures.
P.S. Using Latin made me feel smart; don’t take this away from me.
