  Jesse Eisenberg, insufferable on camera, works some magic behind the camera with a poignant look at family, history, the pain of family, and the pain of history. 

  Kieran Culkin is deservedly currently being loaded with praise - he underpins a genuinely sad, thoughtful film with a magnetic performance that lets in just enough light to balance things out.
