It’s like a buddy cop movie if one of the cops wants to kick the other’s ass the whole time.

First Michael Mann flick, and definitely not my last. Tom Cruise kills in this role—and Foxx is a damn good supporting actor.

The last 30 minutes are very satisfying. I can’t help but feel like Heat and its pop culture relevance overshadow this one, though.

I remember being right down the street from Donald Trump when he insulted Parasite after it won Best Picture in 2020, and clearly Bong Joon-Ho remembers that moment, too.

I got to hear Brad Pitt call Dante a motherfucker in IMAX.

This film never gets old. I know most of these scenes by heart. The camera movements. The shrill musical cues. The mood of each angle.

Way to pull it all together, Fincher. You feel more alive in Seven than you do in Zodiac, and it shows to perfection.

*me now with any movie about class struggle*
“Mm, yea this is very Parasite-esque.”

My first ever experience with this movie was hearing Donald Trump bash it for winning Best Picture. He was just down the street from me holding a rally, and I could hear every insult he made against it. Of course, since it pissed him off so much, I knew I had to watch it.

Genuinely a shocker. I was in awe. You think the movie is going in one direction, and instead it flips around and starts moving diagonally.

I want more movies like this to win Best Picture.
