  Total gorefest which is isn’t my usual cup of tea but I respect the insane commitment to practical effects. This movie lets you see, hear, and damn near taste texture whether you like it or not.

  I wanted so much more.

  Stopmotion was visually titillating and showcased a compelling lead performance from Aisling Franciosian. The titular stop motion sequences were all wonderful as well. Loved the mixed media approach.

  That said — albeit creative and creepy — Stopmotion teased and crawled its way to a predictable, rushed and dissatisfying ending. The pieces to its rather uninteresting puzzle-plot are laid out so blatantly that it’s become very clear to me how tired the themes in this film are.

  I think the horror genre needs to find something new.
