Such a sweet movie, I teared up at the end when they finally meet each other with no hidden identities. Tom Hanks is really such a timeless rom-com actor and this movie just made me keep thinking of Sleepless in Seattle as he narrates over lines he’s written in the background. Rom-coms really love the idea of “enemies to lovers”. I can see why it works so well, but why can’t people just start off and remain lovers? I guess…

I enjoyed the evil twist they put on the Superman story. Props to Uncle Noah for delivering a bit of comedy prior to his unfortunate death when he tried to “nope” out of there after seeing the little freakshow flying. And even bigger props to the parents for attempting to do what needed to be done despite the likely consequences.
All I have to say is that a kid finding out they have powers at such a young age is…
I watched this mostly because people say it’s one of those classic horrors, but I still liked it a lot! had to take away some points because the story was a bit simple for my taste, but I think that simplicity (and also the lovely theme music with its vinyl/scratchy quality) is also what made it so charming. I also like Justin Long a lot, I think he does great in simple movies like this.
I really loved how creative this movie was, from the mixing of fantasy/folklore with the Christmas theme, to the unique take on an age-old character like Santa Claus. The cast also featured some of my favorite actors who worked perfectly together. Overall, a light and fun watch!
