If they cut out every scene where a character looks out the window and thinks about what someone just said to them this movie would be 45 minutes long and they could still fit all the songs in. Themes of familial resentment, regrets, objectification through both attaining and falling from beauty standards are found throughout and are sure to provoke thought. A sad, sickening, horrifying tragedy that didn’t lose me for a second, BESIDES when jeff goldblum reveals he has 5 copies of the exact same outfit in his closet and then the female lead immediately starts having sex with him. The movie has a lot to say on the ways women lose autonomy because of men, and the special effects are obviously amazing. I don’t really like jeff goldblum but he killed it in this role.
