  I can see why the screenplay keeps winning awards, it was like something my screenwriting prof would've given us as the platonic form of the three act structure. heavy-handed as fuck though
  in general, not my type of movie. the body horror was ofc key but I don't think it needed the amount that was there, it felt more oriented toward pure shock aesthetics rather than (no pun intended) substance. also wish it had engaged more with the social construction…
