  The heart and vulnerability Charlie K is willing to expose as himself. As a writer. As his own jester in life. Is almost too intimate at times.

  What a balanced dance of a film this is. 

  Carefully placed steps that weave in and out of a woman’s search for her own identity by playing the part of… herself.

  It’s not a film of mistaken identity. It’s a film of retaken identity. And with that charade of playing one’s self comes a unique version of the gift of self analysis.

  The Eight Mountains 2022

  Beautiful and patient and very non American. I feel like Hollywood would have made the two main characters have sex or fight or insert something with high stakes.

  But really it’s just a film about male friendship and how people change. And to capture that takes time and subtlety. 

  I loved it.

  High recommend if you’ve ever wanted to build a cabin with your best friend.
