I am trying to find an answer to why this fucked me up so much emotionally, so just bear with me.
I was hooked at the prologue. Peter Beard has a book in his hands and is going through his photography works. He tells anecdotes, stories, (after)thoughts - while pointing at the same pictures. Delicate beat in the background. That's it.

The Favourite starts with love and goes on a strange ride to end with loss - - and I fell for it.
Accessibility is certainly not a virtue in itself but in case of this movie, it is striking how it became a result of a admirable tone shifting in Yorgos Lathimos' filmography.
Whereas in Dogtooth and The Alps his statements were so apparent they could burn viewer’s eyes and where in Killing of A Sacred Deer and The Lobster…
