Really well done vampire film. Love the more folk horror type aspect used here where the vampire is more of a family curse than a general creature. Again, deeply folkloric in perspective. Also one hell of a puppet used here. The surprising gender dynamics as well added a further element that makes the movies even more memorable and haunting. Highly recommended.

Finally watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe through the Last Drive-in. Really enjoyed it about 2/3s of the way in but wasn’t super happy with the setup and delivery for the end. Some plot holes too that just stretch further when people shove in certain explanations and theories. Honestly I think a larger dose of realism would have worked better in some ways but if not then the world building needed work. Overall fun and visually engrossing, but not terribly deep.

Old wrestling fan from the Attitude days but never dived in too deeply to stick around. Fascinating look at not only the history of the WWE but the seemingly rather cruel and perhaps insane owner and manager of it, Vince McMahon. A lot of this seems old hat for those long versed in professional wrestling history and lore but those less knowledgeable it’s quite an education. It’s interesting that McMahon even initially agreed to this as the series certainly portrays him as ethically dubious person, a electrified carny and potentially one of the worst fathers ever.

A brilliant tribute to one of the greatest entertainers and innovators of entertainment and education who ever lived, who had more ideas and energy than time was ever going to allow. A heart wrenching love letter to an exemplar of what humanity can be.
