Bong! Had a really fun time at the movies. There are plenty of areas to critique, plot and pacing especially, but I honestly didn't care at all because the ride was so enjoyable. Sauce lady is me, and I am sauce lady. Everything needs a good sauce.

Go see this in a packed theater like I did!

On the third viewing, my focus shifted. Absent curiosity driving my interest in the plot or the big theater screen elevating the action, I focused on the quiet moments instead. That first hour especially, with the love theme blasting, the sand dunes shimmering, and the romance between Chani and Paul blossoming. I found myself saddened as the story pushed relentlessly forward, leaving the quiet behind and entering the darker, louder second act. And I yearned for those quiet moments in the desert again. Indeed, Arrakis is so beautiful when the sun is low.

Just masterful filmmaking that will without doubt stand the test of time.

Of all the films released in 2024, this was unfortunately one of them!

Much like Emilia Pérez, I have a lot to say. Unlike Emilia Pérez, I won't waste everyone's time trying to say it - or, regrettably, sing it. I'm protesting outside of the Hirshhorn Museum if this wins Best Picture.

Halfway decent as a traditional war drama, but wants to be something else entirely. I am not sure exactly what that *something* is. A critique on class and race in England? A lost boy who has to find his way back home? A woman searching for a greater purpose? A love story?? These are good movie tropes and interesting ideas. Paired with the bombing of London, they made for a jumbled and confusing experience.
