I can’t honestly say the tree rape scene ruined it for me because I’m not sure the rest of it would have worked for me either. But I’m happy it helped kickstart Sam Raimi’s career and I’m happy for the people who like it.

I've never seen anything like it. The images on screen are set to be mostly the backdrop of the rest of the movie that happens in your head. It's really strange.
