  Watching this film, I don't imagine Kurosawa as a director, or a screenwriter, but as a painter, and a poet.

  Every shot is so monumental as to deserve its own frame.

  Every line is so pithy as to deserve its own verse.

  How quickly are three arrows traded for ten spears!
