What a convoluted mess of a movie. It's one of those big titles I'd been meaning to get to for years and frankly don't know it's stuck around the way it has. Yeah some of the dialogue is snappy and the leads have chemistry, but if I can't follow what the hell is happening then that doesn't really matter. I'm just painfully bored and disinterested.

Leave the World Behind 2023
Had to watch this as soon as I realised it was directed by Sam Esmail.
It's a very good thriller about strangers stuck together as society is collapsing. Just like one or two classic Twilight Zone episodes, but set in the modern world. I especially liked it more after thinking on the characters and themes, since they're present right from the start of the film and shine in hindsight.
All that said it is my least favourite of Esmail's projects…
