  For a modern audience, there is relatively little action in this 1969 French psychological thriller. Things move slowly, but it is sensual and seductive with an almost laughable number of shots of hot bods air-drying poolside in the French Riveria. Tension builds slowly and deep-seated anger bubbles to the surface. A great explosion at the end brings relief.
