Some disgusting and trippy visuals all throughout. The way it's shot switches multiple times and honestly kinda works. A killer score and a very different performance for Aaron Paul. It does definitely feel like it's trying to be 6 separate sci-fi horror films. Those films being

    The Thing (1982)

    This is so ethereal

    It's adorable and heart wrenching
    Fun and kinda bleak
    Small and grandiose
All of these at the same time.

Because we're so focused on our little group we don't even consider the possibility that the whale is also part of that group. And just because they're ok (apart from the bird) doesn't mean the whale will be. The whale to me represents change. Sometimes something that's good for someone, isn't good for someone else.
