É um filme que, de forma geral, eu gostei. Gosto de como o filme trabalha a tentação, o pecado e a culpa da protagonista. Como a figura do conde é, em certo ponto, realmente ameaçadora.

Acho que a premissa básica de que, para um gângster prosperar, é necessário que haja uma instabilidade socioeconômica é um dos primeiros assuntos interessantes do filme. Não tem mais espaço para a Yakuza no Japão, não a que prosperou no pós-guerra. Mesmo o crime já foi engolido pelo progresso do capital. Resta buscar em uma ilha tomada pelo algoz nuclear estrangeiro a fonte de uma renascença desse grupo desolado por um golpe, um tanto burocrático, de sua empresa mãe.

Eraserhead is the most accurate depiction of a nightmare I've ever seen. From the weird details to the floating nature of the editing and the overall narrative. In the beginning, when Henry is walking home, in this very long walk through all kinds of dirty industrial places, I feel like we're walking into someone's deepest anxieties, into his subconscience. Inherent Vice 2014
My last PTA film on my journey through whom I am considering my favorite american director from his generation. And I don't know if finishing it with Inherent Vice is fitting or rather anti-climatic.
