Since my last update in April, I have accomplished everything I had to complete before the year ends. The first, of course, was watching Alex Garland's directing filmography leading up to Civil War (I rewatched it on physical media last month) with a lengthy discussion about it. Then, I did the Dracula Marathon that went from September to December of this year (with October being a break due to the Halloween Marathon) leading up to Eggers's Nosferatu. Finally, I deleted…

    Dracula Marathon #39 FINAL

"We are here encountering the undead plague carrier... the vampyr... Nosferatu."

After reading Bram Stoker's Dracula (I started the novel last year but did not complete it until last spring), watching all of the Dracula films for the Dracula marathon (including the two Nosferatu films), and thinking about this version of the film after watching it in theaters, I think it is safe for me to say that vampire films are back. Welp, it's that time of the year when I make my predictions for this year's Oscars. I decided to change things up a bit this year. Instead of doing only the movie I want to win, I want to include movies in the popularity line with the best chance of winning based on what The Academy goes for and weaker wins I did not choose, but I guess it won anyway. This movie has everything:

    - ZERO properly formatted songs that ended up being terrible for a musical.
    - A French filmmaker making the look of Mexico look ugly
    - Selena Gomez doing whitewashing
    - A whole lot of inaccuracies and reducing the culture of Mexico (thanks French director)
    - A French filmmaker using Transphobia as an allegory in its disgusting execution.
    - A very weak story
    - Poor structuring
    - And finally, very dumb dancing choreography.

How the fuck does this have 13 oscars nominations (the same amount of nominations as Oppenheimer)?!?!

So I guess they decided to show the whole movie in one trailer because they do not care anymore about how to make a story or have any animation creativity. All Illumination cares for is money.
