  Celine and Julie Go Boating is an under-appreciated gem of french cinema and immediately rose to the ranks of one of my favorite films upon first watch. In all of its sheer ridiculousness and dreamlike trance it maintains an undeniable charm often guided by its characters uncontrollable fits of laughter and an amazing chemistry shared between its two leads. I haven’t quite seen anything like it. The things the two participate in are very out there and its pretty incomprehensible to me how somebody could articulate such ideas, but they really really work wonderfully. It’s pretty weird as shit. But thats kinda the best thing about it.

  Anybody who watches this and says this is a good movie bases that on bullshit instead of how much they actually enjoy it. Go intellectualize and philosophize about porn instead. But ohhhh it's pushing boundaries, ohhhh it's obsessive, primal love. It's essentially 2 hours of unsimulated sex. Meh, but it's a good movie. Oh but it's artsy and shot well!
