  Too smart for subtext or too stupid for it either way this movie has no subtext.

  If it wasn't so painfully slow and weirdly remote it might have been deadly.

  My favorite part is when Lee Marvin takes a naked teenager to a fancy dinner.

  Despite feeling like you were watching someone else play a video game in spots I was pretty captivated by this movie. The art, esp the way the animals moved, was beautiful. The cat reminded me of our, admittedly very cat-like, dog. There were some inconsistencies with the animal behaviour which confused me as to what the boundaries were exactly. But maybe that added to film's enimagtic quality, like actual animals you can never fully understand them.
