The last 40min doesn’t do much good to what has been built up in the story. I’m not convinced since the fight between the old and the young lady. Melodrama just for melodrama’s sake is not cool.

Verhoeven is the kind of male director who knows exactly how women exploitation is woven and coerced in the system fiber (and he poignantly shows it gladly) yet just choose to go along with it, I would say he is not that much different from the old guy sitting behind stardust.

Seems like the overdose of male gaze throughout the film is not enough; i could literally throw up to the rape fantasy the dialogue between ani and the bodyguard was insinuating. Storytelling tempo is like shit.
