I file this under a needle in a haystack type movie. Randomly found this on hulu and it's one of those movies I knew nothing about going in, so I was pleasantly surprised. The tension slowly ramps up as the plot unfolds and the violence becomes more intense as the stakes are raised. One of the twists could have used a bit more massaging, but it serves the character well. The ending feels like a classic horror where the protagonist should make smarter choices, but still I was left satisfied.

Vivarium 2019
This movie was very unsettling. And that is the best word I can use to describe it from start to finish. Unsettling. As the movie goes on it only gets more unsettling. The climactic end is trippy, and while the movie was made as a metaphor for the dread of settling down while young, it leaves you wanting to know just a little bit more of what is going on.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2023
This movie was fun to watch. Started off just okay but when it gets to a certain part the movie really starts to pick up. It builds upon, and plays with the source material. The soundtrack incorporates the old nintendo songs and sound effects in interesting ways as well. An enjoyable movie to watch with your kids that doesn't rely on cheap gags because if anything else it is a pleasure to hear them laughing throughout the entire movie.
