The Boy and the Heron 2023
felt like a sad dismal attempt at replicating ghibli's past. animation's still gorgeous but i think they should've branched out more premise/story-wise
the story fell kind of flat for me also
i don't know if this is me reading too much into it but i sincerely believe hayao miyazaki needs to be booed off stage & thrown tomatoes at for airing out his disappointment as his son's father (barely one, really! public knowledge) onto a shit-ily paced animation movie that premiered all across the globe
