Paying for It 2024
For me, Paying For It is unsettling and uncomfortable because it depicts characters with flaws and their justifications and these characters unapologetically follow their own version of what love means, leaving any pre-written script behind. The moral grayness is destabilizing. And the film doesn’t judge, it just shows. In fact, it holds every character with empathy and love. Deserved or undeserved.
I felt dissonance with some of the humor. I thought at times it distanced us from the emotional weight…Translated from by

Time Still Turns the Pages 2023
It was so real and ripped my heart out, like the type of movie that brings up everything and there’s no easy resolution so I’m like what do I do with myself now when the theatre lights turn on again. Like literally I felt kinda frozen in my seat like it was hard to move.
I cried so much during it that I was light-headed and had a headache afterwards. I recommend it for if you wanna feel something.

How to Blow Up a Pipeline 2022
Honestly surprised a film like this even exists. Very grateful that it does. Makes me think what could be possible as avenues for change because I’ve really don’t think building a sustainable planet is possible without radical action.
How they dealt with the backstories of the BIPOC cast at times felt surface level but it doesn’t deter the message of the film.
