The Substance 2024
The Substance is one of the most refreshing (horror) movies I've seen in a long time. It delivers a strong message, features stellar performances from the leading ladies, showcases artistic visuals, and utilizes many practical effects that are on par with Cronenberg-esque monsters. It's a fantastic one-of-a-kind movie, right up my alley.
The ending will divide a lot of people. While the film could have opted for a safer conclusion, that would not have done its message justice. To everyone…

Scince the horror movies from Ari Aster and Robert Eggers, I put the bar for new horror movies a bit higher. While this movie might not be on the same level as say Hereditary or The Witch, it does scratch an itch that new horror movies seldom do.
