Cinematic masterpiece. The way this film was shot was beautiful. It would’ve gotten a 5 star rating had it not been for the running time. Incredible performances.
I put this off for 10 years and I found a sealed blue ray copy for a dollar at goodwill.

This one has been on my radar for quite some time. I’ve just let it slip by me for years. Finally decided to watch it.
Man.. super intense thriller. Hooked from the get go. All of the performances were fantastic. But Thomas Jane absolutely STOLE this film. May be his best performance. The film displays paranoia like I’ve never seen before. Very intense paranoia. And it just grows and builds until it all unravels.
Robert Eggers is one of the best directors today.. masterpiece after masterpiece. This film is a masterclass of folk horror. Everything about it was perfect. The acting, cinematography, dialogue, score, and I didn’t even mind the runtime. I was hooked immediately from the get go.
The fact that this was made on an $800 dollar budget is pretty impressive.
