The Brutalist 2024
Isnt the 21st century very great for three hour epics? in 2023 there we had oppenheimer and now this epic. every note of the music, every line spoken by its characters, is brutally artistic. while watching, the 215 minute runtime barely feels but once it’s over, i realize it didn’t need to be that long.
Adrien brody always delivers a performance that is deeply painful and filled with warmth. but the true brutality here isnt just in the architecture or the shadow of the holocaust but its in the rotting core of american society itself.
