Best film I've watched at IFFI 2024. You know the movie is 'goated' when the intimate moments wreck you more than the sad moments. The imagery is such eye-candy, and I love how the image and moments are allowed to breath and linger-it gives life to the film. It is surprising how much hope it lets out considering how fuckin sad the movie was. I present you an opportunity to cry like a baby by recommending this film to you.
The movie is good, and stylistically speaking, it's an incredible watch. However, it didn't work that well for me, probably because I'd read Carrie Soto is back.
This film almost felt like a visual elegy. Definitely one of the most profound and poetic films I've ever watched. Several re-watches are the bare necessity to absorb this alluring Magnum Opus. Gonna cry myself to sleep knowing that it's difficult for any other film to live up to this.
