Stunner!! So impressed with everyone involved, what a feat to pull off. I was worried during the first episode that the gimmick would be grating after a while, but luckily the first episode is easily the worst. The moments get time to breathe later on.

I have some issues with the script, but I won’t spoil them in this review.

Ken Loach is one of my cinema heroes, so I was expecting to eat this up, but this was kind of bad?

Stilted performances, glacial pacing and ultimately full of banal writing choices. The heart is as always there, but this time it just didn’t work.

My king deserves a better swan song :(

Nobody quite does it like Mike Leigh. What an unflinching look at depression and how its toxicity can also affect those closest to you. The film put me through the ringer, I was feeling all the emotions in pretty much most scenes. The script was impeccable too, and featured some of the funniest dialogue of the last few years.

It is unfathomable to me that Marianne Jean Baptiste isn't sweeping every best actress award under the sun. It is the best performance I have seen in years, YEARS. Biggest crime since Argo winning best picture.

Will easily end up in my top 5 of 2024.

I had to do it 😭 One of the greatest works to ever grace us.

Thank you David for rewiring my 15-year old brain and opening my eyes to film and art. I don’t think any film has ever given me the feeling of discovery the way Mulholland Drive did. I was OBSESSED. I had to immediately share it with all my friends, lucky them.

One of my fondest high-school memories is hosting Lynch marathons and all of us being absolutely fried when we got to Inland Empire.

I am sobbing. Thank you, you absolute visionary. My favorite forever
