Reason 9021988 I Love the Music Box Theater

It’s like the opposite of A League of Their Own. Whereas that movie is a joyful celebration of womanhood and America’s pastime, Eight Men Out is a mournful examination of manhood, America and baseball. And like League, Eight features an absolute stacked cast of players. Everyone knocks it out of the park, with John Cusack being my personal MVP.

Reason 4112025 I Love The Music Box Theater

Visceral and immersive filmmaking but devoid of any type of POV or real point. Glad I got to see a free, advanced screening of it with a sold out house and q&a with the writer/co-director Ray Mendoza, the co-director/producer Alex Garland and actor Will Poulter. Just wish the film had more to say than war is hell.

Reason 7011992 I Love The Music Box Theater

The cast is a big part of why this film plays so well. Everyone knocks their part out of the park. Lovitz being my personal favorite player. Really appreciated seeing it on the big screen instead of on my TV during a TNT marathon. It allowed me to appreciate Miss Marshall’s composition and blocking this go round. The only foul ball for me is Zimmer’s score. It’s mostly too much for most of the movie, but does crackle during the montages.
