  Looking at this strictly in terms of plot and story structure, this is about as by the numbers and conventional as you can get. But sometimes a film is made with such love and sincerity, that it somehow overrides those shortcomings and becomes a highly enjoyable and memorable experience.

  Although ‘Vanilla Sky’ holds a very special place in my heart, this remains Cameron Crowd’s finest work. Make sure to watch the extended ‘Untitled’ cut which is infinitely superior to the theatrical version. One of my favourite coming-of-age stories, and I had no idea how much extra meaning it would take in for me personally in the years after I first saw it.
