The Witch 2015
I watched this when it came out in 2015 and have only just re-watched it again - 10 years later.
I think it’s obvious why. It’s actually terrifying. The film fills me with the scare that the recently settled Americans had about witches. I felt their fear and I understood the real irrationality of 15th-16th century Europeans & not-as-long-ago Americans.

The Favourite 2018
I’m confused with this one bc I didn’t like any of the characters so who were we meant to root for? Even though the film ig is about the conflict and psychological games/manipulation and ATTEMPTED MURDER, none of the characters were even likeable. The acting was insane & I suppose the 3 women were interesting but not rlly when the previous mentioned romance issue overshadows any of their originality or depth 😫
I love Olivia Coleman, set designs too good, acting so good + costumes. I just don’t think these could carry me towards a second watch
