    Irreversible

    ★★½

It took me seven years to address Irreversible. I’ve heard of it years ago and dreaded watching it because of the content. Today,  decided to finally watch it.

The subject matter about time destroying all things is profound. I can give Irreversible credit for that. Netta Shoshani manages in 1948 - Remember, Remember Not to create a striking portrait of the 1948 Palestine War. This had the hardest title drop of the year, hands down. Eggers as always creates masterful tension. This was definitely worth the wait, and I’m already eagerly awaiting Eggers’ next film.

    The Apprentice

Started off really strong, but after the second act The Apprentice slows its pace to a fault. The emphasis on being overtly graphic does not do it a service either.
