The Shining 1980
Seeing this in the cinema in 2024 wasn’t the experience I’d hoped for. It felt as if a good part of the audience was watching a comedy and the laughter echoing during some of the most intense scenes felt quite out of place. However, Kubrick’s genius shines through any obstacle and I left the cinema with a knot in my stomach.
