The Boondock Saints 1999
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today was a good one. The local burger joint has a Lent special for fish filet sandwiches right now, 2/$8. I got two sandwiches and some onion rings and watched The Boondock Saints. This is the most Irish movie I could think of. Think I might head to the grocery store and get some green cupcakes.

As the final credits began to roll across the screen I heard a murmur in the theatre, "I still don't get it." I chuckled to myself and thought, yeah, I don't either.
I think this one will take a second viewing to regurgitate what I just saw. This film was unrelenting, with vivid imagery and metaphors scattered throughout. Aronofsky went nowhere short of over-the-top with the final act. My jaw was hanging for maybe 10 minutes straight. The unbearing anxiety and constant annoyance of being surrounded and suffocated made for a powerful film.
