Yeah not amazing. Ruffalo was good fun for a bit but it grew stale pretty quick. We don’t realllyyy need to see a trump-like character atm. I was speaking to a guy who worked at the cinema before the film and he said it was “not as lean” as Parasite and Snowpiercer, and he was right, it aint lean it’s flabby. It pulls in all different directions in a way that seems unnecessary and made it quite shapeless. Particularly the…

Had been wanting to watch for a while. Soundtrack is brilliant, as is the setting and Kinskis performance. Soundtrack wise maybe up there with the best of Morricone (and not tainted by the fact you hear it all the time). Loved some of the landscapes and the tracking shots of the horses. Love me some wild west vibes and love me an epic. This is such smooth easy watching, de Niro and dicaprio are both fantastic and it’s an incredible story, I look forward to doing some more googling init. There’s a great pleasure in sitting down to a film of this length when ur in good hands (Martin’s) - it’s why I love westerns and the Coppola stuff from the 70s. Really liked the ending too.

Best film I’ve seen in the last year probably. Completely haunting. There are so many films about the Holocaust so to be able to make one today and have it actually bring something new to the body of work already out there is really impressive. I didn’t even see it in the cinema but can imagine the sound was even better than it was at home. 10/10
