One of my favorite modes of storytelling is having the plot be driven solely through one or more of the characters just being so dumb. It's so great to be reminded of the human spirit's undying determination and whimsy no matter how contradictory it is to common sense. It felt freeing to me. Owen Wilson plays Dignan so perfectly. Although pretty nonimportant to the story, the love between Inez and Anthony is nothing but charming. This movie isn't cerebreal or a thinkpiece. The standalone experience of just dumb but immensely charming movie is something I cherish very much!
