frustrating. to the film's credit i think it's frustrating on purpose. it feels like a whole film about people who are so close to solving the big issue and then fuck it up because they can't get over themselves. it's so fucking bleak, not because the evil is impossible to deal with but because humans are hard to work with (especially those brought up in the individualist, heteropatriarchy present in the movie). the real evil throughout the entire movie occurs when people refuse to listen to each other. the other real evil is that fuckin dog.
