It’s got that weird musty pre-Renaissance Disney vibe, but I love the creative way the production design plays with scale—how all the exteriors are mouse-sized, made of shoes and old boxes and holes in the wall, but all the interiors are normal. I laughed with delight more than a few times!

I forget that they don’t see the play. The one thing they have scheduled all night, and they never go. They do encounter artists throughout the night, but those artists are transitory—a vagrant poet, roving café-boat musicians, a palm reader, a harpsichordist practicing at home.
