Juror #2 presents a moral dilemma, and how the main character handles it was the driving factor behind my enjoyment. The pacing was slow at times, and some actors are criminally underused. However, the ending was thought-provoking. Just don't expect much satisfaction to be found.

Nosferatu 2024
Nosferatu's subject matter didn't really appeal to me, but I do acknowledge that the acting and cinematography were impeccable. The physicality of Lily-Rose Depp's performance was enthralling, and the sexual scenes were captivating. However, for a horror film, I didn't find it scary, and it lacked the mystery and surprise I typically expect from the genre.

The Holdovers 2023
I knew the Holdovers was for me pretty quickly. It's rare to feel that way these days. It's a funny, endearing, and quirky Christmas movie that's made to look like an older film. It captures a certain nostalgic charm that resonated with me even though I wasn't even alive in the 70s. Does watching old movies feel like this too?

1917 2019
1917 is a war film that flows in real time via one-shot cinematography. It's intimate and immersive because the audience is uninterruptedly embedded with main characters who are on a delivery mission. It feels like a non-interactive video game. The entire cast is incredible, but the movie is shot so well that its technical feat almost overshadows them. I worry 1917 has spoiled me into never appreciating one-shot scenes again!
