My first Douglas Sirk film- I would sum it up as a flawed script that is mostly overcome by the charm of its stars. John Baragrey is entertainingly mischievous and Patricia Knight is convincing and mysterious. Cornel Wilde was my favorite though. They all have very good chemistry together and that, along with the cinematography, which makes use of stairways, windows, and shadows, makes for most of the movie's appeal.
