i genuinely don’t know how to begin to explain how much i loved (and still love) this film.
the animation style is just so beautiful to watch, and the sinister elements of the film are still so gripping to me to this day. definitely projected a lot onto this film during the most significant period of my teenage resentment towards my parents, and liked to imagine that i related a lot to coraline and wanting to escape my dramatic shitty…Translated from by -

not quite sure what possessed my dad to show me this film as a child but i’d say i’m grateful now. honestly he probably showed me on a whim, but i have a lot of memories of rewatching this a lot with him, and then later on with friends
