i suppose this is sufficiently racist, homophobic, chauvinistic, xenophobic, patriotic, and "shocking" for a 70s exploitation flick, if that's your thing, but it was a bit of a drag for me. it fails at even being convincingly exemplary of american jingoism because it fails to depict any character in a favourable light. the pacing was alright, the storyline was just barely comprehensible, but nothing special. there's a sequence where al sharif, a sadistic despot, misinterprets the american ambassador guys' reluctance…
