I’ve been at times immensely pessimistic in my life about time and what we do with it. Would quite honestly not mind if this was just Steiner soaring through the air for 45 minutes without the interviewing.
The revenge story is not much of a revenge story, and the horror isn’t much horrific. It is best suited in its comedic tones. But even that starts to fizzle for me when it cuts to present day. This went from 3 to two stars oddly enough when it tried to be more than a comedic horror film. The whole “everybody dies and that sucks.” Like, no shit? It’s said comedically earlier but at the end this film is like, “no really, dying sucks and that’s ok.” And when trying to be quasi-profound, I realized this didn’t stick with me.
I feel pretentious logging these short films into the film diary.
Holy shit, probably the best film of the 80s. 1880s that is.
