I have a tendency to rate films higher than they deserve
(I only watch sad gay films and colourful musicals)
Carol is my absolute favourite film, I don't think I'll ever remove it from my top 4. Everything about it is perfect. The grain, the costumes, the acting, the script, every little detail is PERFECT.
The film opens with what just seems like two women talking, nothing more to it. No story. Carol is wearing one brooch at her first lunch with Therese. Then when the opening scene is shown again, now viewed with a deeper meaning, Carol is now…
every time i watch this, part of me just wants to turn it off after the first half. i never do. so now I’m depressed.
That deep and dark secret really shocked me! (I thought she was about to come out of the closet)
