hmm deeply beautiful and obviously right up my alley with brutalism and all. overall powerful story and i (almost) didn’t mind the length. like many others i am mixed on the ending. in some ways i would’ve wished for more subtlety but also feel like i actually did need it to understand the film’s message. also feel like there were still a couple of holes/ unresolved plot points that were unnecessary. very interested in the implied queerness of the film…

Perfect Days 2023
a reminder of how beautiful the world is. i too love the city, and Patti Smith, and public toilets, and light filtering through leaves, and bike rides, and strangers.
also, japan has such beautiful public toilets, the architects of which are even credited at the end.
