Enjoyable as an almost Verhooven-esque satire on American Boomer self centeredness and narcissism - lacking as a ”deeply moving meditation”. I’m pretty sure Almodovar was made the former, but the rest of the theater seemed to be watching the latter.

I like all the constituent parts of this, but don’t think they come together particularly well, even if Rob Zombie’s Cure is a pretty decent pitch.
Plus has the most egregious example in recent memory of totally undermining some effective mood building with an exposition flashback over explaining something the film already makes pretty damn clear.
